Clip in hair extensions or clip on hair extensions are hair that’s unweaved yet, using the clips to apply on the hair, which are very convenient to use or take-off. Want to know how to use the clip-in hair extension? Let’s do it.

Things you will need:
- Clip-in Hair Extensions
- Comb
- Hair bands
- Hair clips
Step 1: Lay out the clip in hair extensions or “pieces of hair weft” on the desk, grouping them via same size.

We take the 7pcs Straight Clip In Remy Hair Extensions #2 Darkest Brown (which about 20 inches long) for example, but you can use any clip-in hair extensions as long as the length & the color match your hair
Step 2: Part your hair with comb

Step 3: Divide hair vertically from your part down to your ear.

Step 4: Use a hair clip to secure the section of hair in place.

Step 5: Repeat steps 2 & 3 on the other side of your hair.

Step 6: About the back part of your hair, section off the bottom inch of hair and clip up the rest of your hair.

Step 7: Select the weft of hair that will best fit the section, base on the length & wide, so that you can optimize the clip in hair extension.

Step 8: Use hair elastics bands to create sections of hair the same distance apart as the extension clips.

The rubber bands will prevent the clips from creep down of your hair. So keep them in your hair the entire time while you’re wearing the clip in hair extensions.
Step 9: Open up the clips on the matched weft.

Step 10: Secure the weft clip upon the top of the elastic and snap closed.

When the clip is snapped shut, the prongs should be facing down.
Step 11: Once all clips are snapped closed, smooth out the hair with your fingers or a brush.

Step 12: About half an inch up from the first weft, create the next section of hair.
Choose the weft that perfect match the next section of hair.

Step 13: Use small hair elastics to create sections of hair the same distance apart as the clips on the weft as the step 8.

Step 14: Secure each weft clip on top of the corresponding elastic and snap closed.

Step 15: Once each clip is closed, smooth out the clip in hair extension with fingers.
Step 16: Create the next section half an inch above the last and put in the small elastics.

You’ll likely need a weft with 3-4 clips at this point on your head.
Step 17: Snap each extension clip closed on each elastic and smooth out your hair with fingers again.

Step 18: Create the next section half an inch above the last and put in the small elastics.

Step 19: Snap each clip closed on the elastics and smooth hair with fingers.

Step 20: If you parted your hair on the side, create the next section toward the side with the most hair — not directly in the middle of your head.

If you parted your hair in the center, you can continue placing the wefts at the center of your head.
Step 21: Snap each extension clip closed on the elastics and smooth hair with fingers.

Step 22: Create the next section of hair on the side of the head with more hair, about half an inch above the weft.

Step 23 : Use one small hair elastic band and an extension weft with a single clip.

Step 24: Snap the clip and smooth the hair with fingers.

Step 25: On the side of your part with less hair, repeat the step 24.

Step 26: Snap the clip smooth out the hair with fingers. Take down the rest of your hair and style as desired.
